Do not recommend
I bought this unit for my parents, from Lowe's, to replace a previous version that stopped functioning after 10 years. Unfortunately, I did not see this range in person, as it was not in store. I was also not aware of their temperature-controlled coils.
My parents absolutely hate this range because of the coils and are extremely disappointed. They cook a lot and cooking takes an extremely long time, especially when frying or cooking at higher temperatures.
The functioning of these coils does not make any sense. A range should facilitate cooking, not hinder.
On another note, the oven handle broke off within weeks of getting the item. Customer service eventually agreed to send at no charge.

Useless temperature sensing cook top coils
What a horrible cook top! For any one who can actually cook...and needs HIGH heat on a continuous basis, this design reduces the coil temperature to low low just as water starts to boil. Takes much longer to do a reduction sauce or to boil a large pot of water. This reminds me of equally stupid European stoves (found in Europe) that are temperature controlled.
Most of these 'white goods' in this price range are basically the same. This coil range along with many others are basically unchanged from previous models dating back 30 or 40 years!!!!!!!!!!!
I called the dealer, they tell me to go and purchase, at my expense, replacement coils without the cut out switch, that disc in the center.

Purchased about a month ago and am very satisfied with the unit. Having had a glass top previously, the coils are taking some getting used to. The burners do not seem to 'glow red' all over, even when on high. However the food cooks properly and easily. The front large burner being on the left has also taken some getting used to. I have one suggestion, the light comes on when the burner is turned on, which is great, but could there also be a light to indicate there is/are still hot burners once they are turned off. This safety feature was very helpful on my old unit and could help prevent unnecessary burns or burned pot holders! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Heats up fast
I've used my Frigidaire range for a few months now, and I really like the way it heats up the burner coils and the oven quickly. It has two lights for when the burners are on -- instead of just the one typically -- so you are alerted when one or the other side of the range has a burner on -- safer. (My previous GE range took a long time to heat up and had only one warning light.) The range has a helpful timer and oven cleaning system. The oven light turns on automatically when the oven door is open. The best part is that this range was inexpensive. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Bad oven door!!
We were happy when we bought the new Frigidaire range. The cooktop is still working, but the oven handle constantly falls off. It started right after one year warranty period. So we have no recourse. The problem is, we seldom use oven, at most 20 times a year. Yesterday, the entire oven door glass fell off, along with the oven handle. Scary! Especially since we have young children walked by. No one used the oven at that time. The outer door glass and handle just fell off by themselves. Now, we could not use the range at all. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is actually the second stove like this that I’ve purchased. The first was about four years ago. When we moved and remodeled our kitchen at the new house, I knew which stove to buy! I’ve never had any problems and am very happy with the product and it’s cost. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Finally a coil top in stainless!!
I love this range!!!!!! I shopped for over a year for a replacement for my 20 yr old Frigidaire. I needed coil burners so I could use my large cast iron pan collection and for canning. It also had to be stainless to match my kitchen, Not an easy thing to find! The burners and oven heat up fast, it cooks evenly and cleans up with a lil Windex. I wouldn't change a thing I hope to enjoy cooking for another 20 yrs on it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Stay away from this product!!!!
The new sensor feature on the coil elements prevents the element from heating to the high heat required to make jam or jellies or to boil water in a large stock pot to make homemade soup or to process home canning. As someone who lives in a rural area with a large garden and family, this range is useless to me. Within 48 hours of delivery and trying to cook on this stove, I called Leon's where I purchased the range. They refused to refund or exchange as they said it was a manufacturer's issue. I have dealt with Frigidaire customer service on this and they will not issue non-sensor elements as "The appliances are intended to be used as designed, so we would not be able to recommend any modifications to the design or send any parts as such.We would recommend that since the model that you have purchased does not meet your needs that you would need to contact your dealer regarding an exchange or refund of the product, since this was not purchased from us directly. " So I am left with a new range that can only be used to heat food and not for traditional cooking. Leon says to call Frigidaire. Frigidaire says to call Leon's. It is a consumer nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM BUYING THIS PRODUCT. There is nothing in the literature or at time of sales to let you know that the sensors prevent the heat from being consistent for traditional cooking.
