How do I improve my baking results with my Frigidaire range?

You may be surprised to learn your bakeware can impact your baking results. By using the proper rack position, you can improve your baking results - - especially if you are baking on multiple racks. Your Owner’s Manual has great tips and tricks to optimize your baking performance and recommended rack positions based on food type. For more information or tips to try, review the “Before You Call” section of your Owner’s Manual if you are experiencing any issues with your baking performance.

How do I insert and remove my racks from my Frigidaire range?

The type of racks in your range may vary by model. Based on your appliance, your Owner’s Manual provides a description of various types of racks. Most racks can simply be removed by pulling the oven rack straight out until it reaches the stop position. Tilt up the front of the oven rack to slide past the stop position and pull the rack out of the oven cavity. To insert the rack, rest the oven rack evenly between a left and right front guide along the oven walls so that the oven rack rests level. Tilt front of the rack upward and slide rack in past the stop position. Then bring the rack to a level position and slide the rack completely inside the oven.

To keep your oven racks gliding smoothly when you’re removing or inserting them, we recommend applying cooking oil along their outer edges.

If your oven is equipped with the Effortless Oven Rack system, you can refer to your Owner’s Manual for specific instructions. The Effortless Oven Rack system will automatically partially extend the oven rack from the interior oven glides to assist in easier access to your food items. This feature works whenever the oven door is opened or closed. IMPORTANT: Only the Effortless Oven Rack system should be used in the oven rack position 2. Placing any other rack in the oven rack position 2 will prevent the oven door from fully closing and may damage the oven door, oven cavity or the door connector brackets.

How do I clean my Frigidaire range?

Your Owner’s Manual provides helpful tips regarding care and cleaning for your range to include the exterior and interior components such as knobs, stainless steel, racks, door and cooktop, etc. You can also purchase cleaners directly. If your appliance has Smudge Proof Stainless Steel, use a soft cloth, clean with a mild dish detergent and water or a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Rinse with clean water, dry with a soft clean cloth. Do not use appliance cleaner, stainless steel cleaner or cleaner containing abrasives, chlorides, chlorine or ammonia. These cleaners may damage the finish.

How do I set my oven or range to self-clean?

To self-clean your oven, follow these simple steps:

  1. Remove the oven racks.
  2. Set your oven control to clean.
  3. Select a cleaning time or choose a cleaning level: light, medium, or heavy soiled. For typical cleaning needs, we recommend that you select a cleaning time of three hours or choose the medium soiled setting.
  4. Select Start. (To set a delayed start, see your use and care manual.)

Note: For safety reasons, the oven door will remain locked until the oven cools down. When it is sufficiently cool, the door will automatically unlock.

What does the Lock feature do and how can I activate it?

Your appliance may be equipped with the ability to Lock the oven door and display controls. To set the oven Lock feature (instructions may vary by model – check your Owner’s Manual for more details):

  • Press OFF and hold for 6 seconds. Lock will appear in the display, the door locked indicator light will flash, and the door lock will begin to close. Allow about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock. Once the oven is locked, the current time of day will appear in the display.
  • To cancel the oven Lock feature, press Off and hold for 6 seconds. The control will unlock the oven door and resume normal operations.

Why does my oven smoke when I’m using the Air Fry Tray?

Air Fry circulates superheated air inside the oven, and the Air Fry Tray allows that air to cook the food all over, even on the bottom. For Air Fry to deliver crunchy texture, a little oil needs to be on the food. That oil cooks fast to create the crunch we love! Convenience foods that are made to be crispy from the oven may have more oil on them than homemade foods. Some foods, like homemade chicken wings, are going to drip while they cook. A little smoke is normal, but we have some tips to help:

  • When using the Air Fry Tray, place a baking sheet on the oven rack one or two positions below the Air Fry Tray. This keeps drips and crumbs from landing on the oven bottom, where they will burn and create smoke. Place some foil-lined parchment paper on the baking sheet. Parchment paper traps oil and keeps it from smoking.
  • When making homemade food, use cooking oils that can stand up to a high temperature. For example, olive oil and some vegetable oils will smoke at lower temps than avocado, grapeseed, and peanut oils. Cooking sprays made from these oils are available at the grocery store.
  • Remember to keep foil, parchment paper, and bakeware off the bottom of the oven! The oven bottom needs to stay clear so air can circulate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings I was so excited for this range. I actually selected and purchased everything in my kitchen around this range. I am a frequent user of the airfryer so I had to have the range that had an airfryer built in. After pre-heating the oven, the oven turns off and the control panel stops working. After about 10 mins, it starts working again. Not sure why it does this but I've been using the oven for about 3 weeks and it has done it every time. Aside from that, the stove works wonderfully. The oven is fine and airfryer mode works well IF you don't preheat the oven first. Not sure if that's normal. I need to make a call to customer care [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it!! I have had my new oven for about a month now. So far I am loving it! Nice simple design and finger prints seem to come off easily, unlike some other stainless steel appliances. I am having a lot of fun with the air fry feature. I have never used an air fryer, so I have nothing to compare to. I hate having a bunch of cooking gadgets with my limited cabinet space. The fact that Frigidaire has decided to add a built in option is great!!! I've been trying to air fry everything. I will say, be careful air frying bacon or anything else really greasy. The pan that comes with the oven doesn't have a super high edge. My grease almost poured over. I'm sure there are some other pan options I could purchase for this sort of thing. Otherwise, everything else has turned out great!!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and looks great! Just recently had this installed, I have not used the air fryer option yet. but the rest of the stove and cook top works great. The stove looks great. One thing to consider is there is no back to it like a traditional stove where the stove controls would be. this is important if your back splash does not go low enough also, depending on how your natural gas line comes in and where your electric plug is, you may not be able to slide the stove as far back as you'd like leaving a gap between the wall and stove. No other issues, works GREAT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Update I just purchased a new home that was built in 1964 and had not been updated since then. I purchased the matching refrigerator and over range microwave. It updated the whole kitchen beautifully. The oven quick preheat is fast! I am please with the cooking top cooking surface and it is easy to clean. My only dislike is that the front control panel is very sensitive. I bump it regularly while cooking and cleaning. I have to make sure it is not accidentally turned on. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome range! I absolutely love the airfryer feature. I air fried a meatloaf it locks in a the juices of your meat. I really like the fact that I don't have to have another appliance taking up space in my kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my new range! I absolutely love my new range. The burners are instantly responsive. I love having 2 large burners, one medium and one small. Plus the griddle burner in the middle. I like the feel of the control knobs, they are sturdy and good looking. I've tried air frying and it was fantastic. I did purchase a stainless steel rack that fits inside my 1/4 sheet cookie sheet just for air frying. It was perfect. I've also baked a favorite cookie recipe using the convection oven and they turned out great. I had a convection oven in my last range, but never used it. I baked a meatloaf using convection and it was superb. I do like that I have a choice of using the conventional oven or the convection oven. So happy with this purchase. Rated 5 out of 5 by from AIR FRY FEATURE I bought this range about two months ago and it is the best range i have ever owned and my wife loves the air fry feature!!! It is a healthier and easy way to cook a lot of different things. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful burners! I bought this range a few weeks ago. Construction is solid, feels like restaurant quality knobs, burner graduation and top grates. The convection oven and convection convert feature are awesome. I have made roasted chicken and salmon in the oven and the results have been wonderful. The air fryer feature has been trickier to figure out without tried and true recipes with more precise time and temperature recommendations. The recommended time and temperature for the homemade french fries was way off... resulting in burnt fries. Second time around I kelt N eye and they were done in about 29 minutes. The air fryer tray works well in the oven but there was dome dripping. Luckily the steam cleaning feature worked well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Oven I bought this oven about a month ago and it was one of my best decisions. It was a healthy step for our family with the new air fry feature. I have 3 small children and a simple air fryer from the store just wouldn’t be big enough. My only complaint is with having 3 small kids who love to touch everything up, I ordered the smudge proof and was sent the stainless steel. So that was a disappointment but other than that I love this oven. And it looks great!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Air fry...oh my! Very happy with new oven. Was excited to try out the air fry feature- it makes so much more sense to have it built into my oven than to have a separate appliance. My shishito peppers came out great! Impressed with how little oil I had to use. Will try wings next since football season is around the corner. Preheating time is shorter than with my previous range/oven. My husband likes that all of the controls are on front of the unit- looks sleek! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware gas line clearance! This range was delivered this afternoon. Installer arrived and told me clearance for the gas line is only 8 inches. My existing line is 9 1/2 inches. Have had three ranges in the 25 years I lived here and this is the first time that was an issue. I have to move my gas line or return the unit. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the air fryer We got our new Frigidaire Gas Range 2 weeks ago and we love it. Delivery and installation was prompt and professional. It has a very modern stylish look. The grates, burners, controls, door and drawer or top quality. We have discovered air frying and love it, The food comes out crispy and juicy without all the added fats of cooking with oil. I highly recommend this gas range for anyone looking for a new one or to upgrade. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love I bought this oven because of the look, and air fry option. I am so confused as to why when using that option with chicken wings and other items everything drips into the oven and the whole house is smoking. Why is there not a tray that attaches to catch all the dripping? Any suggestions would be helpful I put a tray on the shelf under it but still drips so am confused over this. But the oven is beautiful. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my new Frigidaire Gas Rang! I love my new Frigidaire Gallery 30'' Front Control Gas Range with Air Fry! This is our first gas stove in many years and what a diffence! It looks great and works even better than it looks, especially the air fry feature. I love a nice crispy chicken wing and the wings that this stove can make using Air Fry are perfectly crispy without using any frying oil! I have young children so we make a lot of chicken fingers and fries and they also love the crispiness of the food coming out of this stove. I am looking forward to our next culinary adventure - baking a cake utilizing the True Convection feature. No more burnt cake or cookie bottoms will be nice. I highly recommend the Frigidaire Gallery 30'' Front Control Gas Range with Air Fry for anyone in the market for a new stove. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not impressed We bought this particular range specifically for the built in air fryer. It creates such a mess in our oven when we are making wings. We bought the air fryer pan and we put a sheet underneath it in order to catch the grease. It also smokes up our house too much, even with the vent on. We have to open our windows & doors (which is not good in the winter when you live in Minnesota) to get the smoke out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent appliance! I have not had this for very long, just under 4 weeks, but have already used it more than the appliance it replaced in more than a year! As I have been using a very disappointing appliance for about 4 years, I find it almost miraculous that this piece performs perfectly, every single time I use it, and I am finding more reasons to love, Love, LOVE it every day! It is superior in every way I've tried it, and I have alot of cooking to catch up with! I'm so happy I've got just the right equipment for the job!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Air Fryer, Truly Adjustable Gas Burner, Gorgeous! This is one handsome stove. I confess I would love to purchase a super high end stove. You know the ones that are about $3K+. I just can't justify that kind of purchase. I took one look at this and learned of all it's features: Sold! Have had it a few weeks and the love affair continues! The wire air fryer comes with its own rack and is a removable cooking piece. It's extra but, worth it. Oh, and I bought another kitchen Frigidaire appliance after inviting this baby in the house. Great brand! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great! Bought as a replacement for a cheap gas stove...no comparison. Love the large grates that cover the entire top. Burners are nice and powerful, had to learn to turn them down after old cheapo. Bakes great and the air fry is nice. The only complaint and reason for 4 stars is the quick preheat always beeps before the temperature is reached. Other than that a great stove so far. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Let's be honest.... An airfryer in an oven is awesome!!! But-functionality it's a little odd. Usually when you air fry you need to spray oil on the food & then turn it over. There is no easy way to do this without removing the entire tray & finding somewhere to spray the oil without it going everywhere once the food is in the oven. 2nd item that bugs me is the cooktop, it's so deep & away from the grates. Every little thing falls down there & I find myself taking all the grates off & cleaning it after every use. Oh don't forget the air fryer grate doesn't come with the air fryer oven, you have to pay an additional 52.99 for that. Crazy that a state of the art over that is touted for air frying doesn't come with the correct tools do air fry. Other than that I have had no problems with the air fryer, works like a gem. I haven't used the stove yet but the cook top works fine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks nice, works well! This oven heats quickly and bakes well. I’ve only used the air fryer once to make fries. They were burnt around the edges of the baking sheet. Only negative is it’s loud. It makes a sound while in use and sometimes after. Maybe that’s the fan cooling it off after. Wish it was quieter. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Limited use so far Although we haven't used all the features on it yet, I do have one criticism about the burner knobs.
