installation difficult to impossible
The mounting bracket supplied with the unit assumes everyone will want to mount the unit in a standard double hung sash. We did not. All the supplied brackets were useless. I had to fabricate my own bracket. Next the exhaust hose is supposed to screw into a bracket going to the window and another on the back of the unit.. Easier said than done. I am sure this reduced manufacturing cost, but gave a product that is hard to install. I am afraid to move the unit lest the hose comes undone. I bought the unit last year around Labor Day. I just got it installed on the 4th of July. That speaks volumes to ease of installation

As mentioned in other reviews, the included materials to vent the portable A/C, mine does not have heat capability, are cumbersome and difficult to use. While I'd like to perform the occasional (power outage=generator) installation without fuss, the only way I've found to work well is with some sturdy tape. Paid extra for the variety that does not leave residue when removed.
I've used it three times. When first purchased, I turned it on to make sure it wasn't DOA. Later, I used it with my new generator to ensure the generator provided enough juice. It is now (11/05/2018) running because my central A/C quit.
Which brings me to the Use & Care manual. The majority of A/C's drain condensate during use. I presumed this one would, also. Knowing it would be some time before my central A/C was back in operation, and living in Florida, I made a special trip to pick up a leader hose. Only to discover I didn't need to.
Even when I tested "Dry" mode (with the hose in place) there is no drainage occurring. Readers should note they are unlikely to need "continuous drainage" unless they live in a rain forest!
High humidity - check
Unit running in dry mode over an hour - check
Hose feeding to completely dry bucket - check
In summary, Kudos to the design engineers and manufacturer!
Not so much to the folks who wrote the manual. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

May buy a second
We finally broke down and bought an a/c unit (FFPA1022U1) after many years. Turns out that it works well really quickly and isn't too noisy either. You really can't roll it from one room to another easily because you have to (sort of) custom fit the exhaust to each window and our windows are different widths depending on the room. But, it will roll away easily at the end of the season and it really has been a blessing on some of those really hot and humid nights. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Keeps things cool!
Bought this for our upstairs apartment, the room is about 500 sq ft with tall ceilings. This unit keeps the room cool and Bearable in the hot summer. Remote control is a very convenient feature! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The unit is simply styled yet attractive. I like that it doesn't stick out too much in my room. The functions are intuitive and easy to use. I also like the remote--simple and convenient.
Note: when using this unit, make sure that you went the exhaust air properly. The exhaust air is very warm. If even a little of the exhaust air leaks into your room, it will undo a lot of the cooling power.
My one suggestion is to offer additional parts or fittings for the exhaust tube. The fittings included in this package are designed for a typical sliding window, but they don't work with casement windows, which I have in my apartment. Luckily, my apartment also has an exhaust pipe built into the wall for this type of AC unit. Unfortunately, the exhaust tube and the pipe in my wall were exactly the same size, so I didn't have a way to connect them together. I ended up rigging it up with duct tape, which has worked reasonably well, but it would be nice if there was a connector included in the package instead. Loving the cool, hate the leaking water.
I bought this a couple weeks ago, and have not run it in Dry mode to avoid the water hose complication - and found out a week into using it that it heavily leaks water - not a fun thing to learnniny our carpeted bedroom.
I’ve reviewed all the manuals and guides - and it’s pretty clear that i shouldn’t need a hose unless i’m using dry mode - but it’s still putting out half a gallon in 4-5 hours. Am i missing something or is this unit busted? I’d be happy if not for this issue.

I bought this about 6 weeks ago for my bedroom and it works great. It cools my room in 10 minutes and i love the timer feature because i can fall asleep without having to turn it off knoe it will only run as long as i want it to. The only thing i dislike is the window kit. The hose constantly come out of the panel so now the hose is taped to the panel but i used clear tape so it isnt as noticeable. Overall, great product!
