Refrigerators

Real Stainless Steel: Stainless steel that has been treated with a protective coating that reduces fingerprints and smudges, making it much easier to clean.

Counter-Depth: These refrigerators offer a built-in look. The refrigerator’s cabinet is as deep as your countertop, so the edge of the refrigerator is flush with your countertop. Only the doors and handles extend into your kitchen space.

Standard-Depth: These refrigerators are standard and the least expensive models, but they may be 4 inches (or more) deeper than your cabinet and countertop, extending further into your kitchen space than your counter does.

SpaceWise® Organization System: Our SpaceWise® Organization System makes it easy to keep food organized and easy to find when you need it.

French Door: A two-door refrigerator model that features a refrigerator on top and a freezer on the bottom. The lower freezer is often accessed as a pull-out basket. Many French Door models also offer filtered ice and water dispensers in the door.

Side-by-Side: A two-door refrigerator model that has the freezer on the left and the refrigerator on the right. The simple design makes it easy to organize and find items. Often these models have ice and water dispensers in the door. They work well when you don’t have a lot of space for the door to swing open.

Top Freezer: A two-door refrigerator model that features the freezer on top and the refrigerator on the bottom. These models are good for smaller kitchens, offering roomy storage on wide shelves and a lower cost of operation. The direction the door opens can often be reversed to meet your specific needs.

ENERGY STAR® Qualified: This means that the product exceeded stringent standards set by the Canadian Office of Energy Efficiency. Additionally, manufacturers are required to display their products’ test results on the ENERGY STAR® label. The label will tell you about the product's efficiency level, including approximately how much energy the appliance uses, its average annual operating cost, and how its energy use compares with that of similar products.

Convection Cooking: Cooking with the added advantage of airflow circulation, which allows for a more even distribution of heat. By using the forced flow of hot air, convection ovens cook 25%-30% faster than conventional ovens at a lower heat, and bakes food more evenly.

Freestanding Range: Used in traditional installations (against the kitchen wall), and typically has a backguard with a clock and controls that are on the front, the top or the backsplash.

Dual-Fuel Range: A range with performance of a premium gas cooktop combined with benefits of an electric powered oven.

Slide-in Range: A range designed to slide in and fit flush with your countertop. This is ideal for an island peninsula, and can also be used against a kitchen wall to showcase a decorative backsplash. With a slide-in range, cooktop and oven controls are at the front of the appliance.

Electric Range: A range with an electric cooktop and an electric powered oven.

Gas Range: A range with a gas cooktop and a gas powered oven.

Induction Hybrid Range: This range includes an induction hybrid cooktop that uses a combination of electric elements that are compatible with all cookware, induction elements that are more responsive than gas or electric and 70% more efficient than gas and 20% more efficient than electric, plus the benefits of a premium electric oven.

Simply place the probe in the thickest part of the meat, plug the probe into the side of the oven and monitor cooking progress on the control panel. A chime will sound when the desired temperature is reached.

Cooktops/Stovetops

Cooktops: A flat cooking surface with burners. Both drop-in cooktops and slide-in cooktops can be used in an island, peninsula or a traditional setting. The main difference is that a drop-in cooktop will have the controls on the top while the slide-in will have them on the front. A slide-in cooktop will require special installation.

Induction Hybrid Cooktop: A cooktop that includes a combination of electric elements that are compatible with all cookware, and induction elements that are compatible with most cookware — if a magnet sticks to the bottom of a pot or pan. The induction elements use magnetic coils below the ceramic-glass surface to generate heat directly in the pot or pan so it is more responsive than gas or electric and 70% more efficient than gas and 20% more efficient than electric.

Washers

Front-Load Washers: These washers have no center agitator and rely instead on tumble action to wash gently and rinse completely, helping your clothes last longer and feel fresher. They are more energy efficient than top-load washers.

Top-Load Washers: Traditional top-load washers load through a lid on the top of the machine and have a tall agitator in the center that circulates clothing during washing.

Balance Control System: Available on Frigidaire Affinity washers, this system uses vibration control technology to keep even oversized loads balanced for smooth, quiet operation. Ideal for use on second floors.

Energy Saver Option: Available on Frigidaire Affinity washers, this option reduces water temperature which saves energy when washing clothes.

Advanced Rinse Technology: Available on Frigidaire Affinity washers, this feature provides a final rinse of fresh water to ensure whiter whites and reduce allergens.
